Tomato - Organic Oxheart Red

Tomato 'Oxheart' is a prized European heirloom beloved for its distinctive, heart-shaped, pinkish-red fruit and dense, meaty texture. Producing large tomatoes with virtually no seeds and very small core cavities, it delivers a rich, sweet, and mild flavor with low acidity. Its thick, firm flesh makes it an absolute favorite for thick slicing onto sandwiches, layering in Caprese salads, or simmering down into smooth, rich pasta sauces.

Planting Instructions

• Position: Plant in a warm, sheltered spot in full sun (at least 6–8 hours daily) in rich, fertile, free-draining soil heavily amended with compost or well-rotted manure
• Transplanting: Ease seedling gently from its container. Plant slightly deeper than it sat in its nursery pot, burying the stem up to the first set of true leaves to promote a deeper, stronger root system.
• Depth & Spacing: Space plants 60–75 cm apart. Install a strong 1.8m stake or heavy-duty tomato cage at planting time to support the tall (indeterminate) vines and heavy fruit load.
• Watering: Water deeply and consistently at soil level to keep moisture levels even. Inconsistent watering can lead to blossom end rot or fruit cracking. Keep foliage dry to prevent fungal issues.
• Harvest: Harvest after 12–14 weeks when the heavy, heart-shaped fruit turns a deep, uniform pinkish-red and yields slightly to gentle pressure.
