Tomato - Organic Grosse Lisse

An iconic Australian heirloom favorite, Tomato 'Grosse Lisse' is celebrated for its heavy crops of large, deep-red, globe-shaped fruit with exceptional, classic tomato flavor. Rich, sweet, and moderately acidic, it produces medium-to-large tomatoes with smooth skins that resist cracking. Highly adaptable and reliable in warm conditions, it is the ultimate slicing tomato for sandwiches, burgers, fresh summer salads, and rich home-cooked pasta sauces.

Planting Instructions

• Position: Plant in a warm, sunny position receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Requires rich, loose, well-draining soil heavily enriched with compost or well-rotted manure.
• Transplanting: Handle gently to keep the root ball intact. Plant slightly deeper than it sat in its nursery cell, burying the stem up to its lower leaves to encourage extra root development along the buried stem.
• Depth & Spacing: Space plants 60–75 cm apart in rows 90 cm apart. Install a strong, tall stake or sturdy cage at planting time to support this vigorous, tall-growing (indeterminate) vine.
• Watering: Water deeply and consistently at the base of the plant to keep soil moisture even. Irregular watering can cause blossom end rot or skin splitting. Keep foliage dry to prevent foliar fungal diseases.
• Harvest: Harvest when fruit is fully colored, deep red, and yields slightly to gentle pressure (around 12–14 weeks after transplanting).
