Our Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Elixir is crafted to gently uplift mood, ease emotional heaviness, and restore emotional balance during the darker months of the year. This comforting blend combines herbs known for their ability to support the nervous system, enhance emotional resilience, and bring light to the mind and spirit when seasonal depression takes hold.
Key Ingredients:
- St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum): A time-honoured herb for mood support, St. John’s Wort has been widely studied for its antidepressant properties. It helps regulate neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, supporting emotional balance.
- Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis): A calming and uplifting herb, lemon balm eases nervous tension, reduces anxiety, and gently lifts low mood. Its sunny disposition makes it perfect for the winter blues.
- Calendula (Calendula officinalis): Traditionally used to bring warmth and light to the body, calendula supports lymphatic health and emotional clarity. Its bright yellow flowers have an energetically uplifting quality, especially when the world feels grey.
Medicinal Properties:
- Mood Enhancement: St. John's Wort and Lemon Balm work synergistically to support neurotransmitter balance, particularly serotonin, which plays a key role in regulating mood and sleep cycles.
- Nervous System Support: Lemon Balm soothes nervous tension and overthinking, while Calendula supports emotional resilience and inner warmth during colder seasons.
- Adaptogenic-Like Effects: This blend helps the body and mind adapt to the seasonal shift in light and energy, reducing fatigue, sadness, and mental fog.
- Digestive Mood Connection: Calendula and Lemon Balm support digestive health, which is often tied to mental health through the gut-brain axis.
