Lettuce 'Salad Bowl Green' is a classic, high-yielding oakleaf-style variety prized for its deeply lobed, delicate lime-green leaves. It forms attractive, rosette-shaped loose heads with a crisp, tender texture and a sweet, non-bitter flavor. Highly resistant to heat and slow to bolt, it thrives through warm weather and is one of the most reliable varieties for a continuous, fresh "cut-and-come-again" harvest.

Planting Instructions

• Position: Plant in full sun to partial shade in loose, fertile soil enriched with compost. Afternoon shade during hotter spells helps keep the leaves exceptionally sweet and tender.
• Transplanting: Carefully ease seedlings from their nursery container, taking care not to disturb the young root system or bury the central crown.
• Depth & Spacing: Plant at the same depth as the nursery pot. Space individual plants 20–25 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart to allow the broad oakleaf rosettes to spread.
• Watering: Water regularly at ground level to keep the root zone consistently moist. Shallow, frequent watering ensures rapid growth and crisp, succulent leaves.
• Harvest: Snip outer leaves as needed throughout the season—the plant will continuously generate fresh central growth. Alternatively, harvest the entire mature rosette 5–7 weeks after transplanting.
