Grape leaves have been a staple of both Mediterranean cuisine and traditional medicine for thousands of years. While the fruit is celebrated for its juice and wine, the leaves—particularly the red vine leaves harvested in autumn—contain a high concentration of polyphenols and anthocyanins. These compounds are highly valued in herbal medicine for their ability to strengthen the structural integrity of the circulatory system.
Medicinal Uses
- Venous Tonic: Specifically used to strengthen the walls of the veins and improve their elasticity, making it a premier remedy for chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).
- Microcirculation Support: Enhances blood flow through the smallest capillaries, which is vital for delivering nutrients to the skin and distal tissues.
- Anti-inflammatory: Helps to reduce the "heavy" and aching sensations in the legs caused by fluid pooling and poor vascular return.
- Astringent Action: The high tannin content helps to tone and tighten lax tissues, which can be beneficial for internal and external bleeding or "leaky" vascular conditions.
- Antioxidant Protection: Rich in resveratrol and other flavonoids that protect the vascular lining from oxidative damage and aging.
Precautions
- Digestive Sensitivity: Due to the high tannin content, some individuals may experience mild stomach upset or constipation if taken in high doses.
- Blood Thinners: While generally safe, those on potent anticoagulant medications should monitor their status, as the leaves contain Vitamin K which can influence clotting.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Often used in culinary amounts, but concentrated medicinal extracts should be used under professional guidance.
- Iron Absorption: Like many tannin-rich herbs, it may interfere with the absorption of non-heme iron if taken directly with meals.
Grape Leaf is the architect of the circulatory system, working to rebuild and reinforce the body’s "piping." It is an essential ally for those seeking to reduce swelling, improve leg comfort, and ensure that the vascular system remains resilient and efficient.

Available Formats: Elixir, Tincture, and Glycetract
We offer this herbal remedy in three different preparations to suit a variety of health needs, taste preferences, and sensitivities. Whether you're looking for a traditional alcohol-based tincture, a sweet and nourishing elixir (also contains alcohol), or a gentle alcohol-free glycetract, you can choose the form that’s right for you or your loved ones.
Glycetract (Glycerite)
Glycetracts are alcohol-free extracts made using vegetable glycerin and water. They are ideal for those who are sensitive to alcohol, including children, pets, or those with liver conditions. While they are not always as potent as tinctures, they are still effective and particularly well-suited for milder conditions or long-term support.
Best for: Children, pets, those avoiding alcohol, or for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding (with practitioner advice).
Elixir
Elixirs are traditional herbal preparations made using a blend of alcohol, Glycerin, and water. They are often used when you want both therapeutic action and a palatable, sweetish flavour, especially for those who prefer not to taste the bitterness of herbs.
Best for: Adults and children - ages 1+, general wellness and those who dislike bitter tinctures.
Alchemy Elixirs
Alchemy Elixirs are my unique, full-spectrum herbal extracts crafted using a four-phase process — alcohol, glycerin, apple cider vinegar, and water. This method captures the complete range of a plant’s natural nutrients, from minerals and vitamins to alkaloids, flavonoids, and polysaccharides. Each Alchemy Elixir is designed to deliver the plant’s full vitality in a gentle, bioavailable form that supports daily wellness and balance.
Best for: Anyone wanting daily nourishment and deep herbal support. Ideal for adults and children ages 1+, these elixirs provide the full spectrum of plant compounds — including natural vitamins and minerals — for whole-body wellness.
Tincture
Tinctures are highly concentrated herbal extracts made using alcohol as a solvent. This is one of the most effective ways to extract the full medicinal spectrum of most herbs, including alkaloids, essential oils, and resins.
Best for: Adults or those looking for fast, potent results. Not ideal for those sensitive to alcohol, reformed alcoholics or for young children under 1.
By purchasing and using these tinctures, you accept full responsibility for their use and agree to do so at your own discretion. For any questions about these products, please reach out to us prior to purchasing.
Which One Should I Choose?
- Want the strongest, fastest effect? Choose a Tincture.
- Prefer a sweeter, more nourishing option? Go for an Elixir.
- Need something gentle and alcohol-free? Opt for a Glycetract.
- If you want the most complete, full-spectrum extract? choose the Alchemy Elixir.
