Fumitory (Fumaria spp) is a gentle yet powerful cleansing herb traditionally used to support liver and skin health. Known for its ability to promote detoxification and bile flow, Fumitory has been valued in herbal medicine for centuries as a spring cleanser and skin purifier. It helps restore balance in the body by supporting the liver’s natural detox pathways and promoting healthy elimination, making it especially useful for sluggish digestion, acne, eczema, or other skin conditions linked to poor detoxification.
Medicinal Uses
- Liver & Detox Support – Helps stimulate bile production and improve liver function, assisting in the removal of toxins from the body.
- Skin Health – Supports the treatment of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis by addressing internal imbalances and sluggish elimination.
- Digestive Function – Aids digestion by improving bile flow, reducing bloating, and easing symptoms of sluggish digestion.
- Blood Purification – Acts as a gentle cleanser for the blood, helping clear waste products that can contribute to skin breakouts or inflammatory conditions.
- Mood & Wellbeing – Traditionally used to support a sense of calm and balance, particularly where liver stagnation contributes to irritability or fatigue.
Precautions
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Use with caution in individuals with low blood pressure or gallstones.
- Consult a qualified practitioner before use if taking prescription medications or experiencing chronic liver conditions.

Available Formats: Elixir, Tincture, and Glycetract
We offer this herbal remedy in three different preparations to suit a variety of health needs, taste preferences, and sensitivities. Whether you're looking for a traditional alcohol-based tincture, a sweet and nourishing elixir (also contains alcohol), or a gentle alcohol-free glycetract, you can choose the form that’s right for you or your loved ones.
Glycetract (Glycerite)
Glycetracts are alcohol-free extracts made using vegetable glycerin and water. They are ideal for those who are sensitive to alcohol, including children, pets, or those with liver conditions. While they are not always as potent as tinctures, they are still effective and particularly well-suited for milder conditions or long-term support.
Best for: Children, pets, those avoiding alcohol, or for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding (with practitioner advice).
Elixir
Elixirs are traditional herbal preparations made using a blend of alcohol, Glycerin, and water. They are often used when you want both therapeutic action and a palatable, sweetish flavour, especially for those who prefer not to taste the bitterness of herbs.
Best for: Adults and children - ages 1+, general wellness and those who dislike bitter tinctures.
Alchemy Elixirs
Alchemy Elixirs are my unique, full-spectrum herbal extracts crafted using a four-phase process — alcohol, glycerin, apple cider vinegar, and water. This method captures the complete range of a plant’s natural nutrients, from minerals and vitamins to alkaloids, flavonoids, and polysaccharides. Each Alchemy Elixir is designed to deliver the plant’s full vitality in a gentle, bioavailable form that supports daily wellness and balance.
Best for: Anyone wanting daily nourishment and deep herbal support. Ideal for adults and children ages 1+, these elixirs provide the full spectrum of plant compounds — including natural vitamins and minerals — for whole-body wellness.
Tincture
Tinctures are highly concentrated herbal extracts made using alcohol as a solvent. This is one of the most effective ways to extract the full medicinal spectrum of most herbs, including alkaloids, essential oils, and resins.
Best for: Adults or those looking for fast, potent results. Not ideal for those sensitive to alcohol, reformed alcoholics or for young children under 1.
By purchasing and using these tinctures, you accept full responsibility for their use and agree to do so at your own discretion. For any questions about these products, please reach out to us prior to purchasing.
Which One Should I Choose?
- Want the strongest, fastest effect? Choose a Tincture.
- Prefer a sweeter, more nourishing option? Go for an Elixir.
- Need something gentle and alcohol-free? Opt for a Glycetract.
