Native to the sun-bathed regions of Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean, Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is a small, aromatic shrub bearing fragrant yellow flowers. Deeply rooted in traditional Mayan culture—where it was prized as a celebratory elixir and vitalizing tonic—Damiana was later introduced to Western herbalism in the late 19th century. Rich in fragrant essential oils, flavonoids (such as apigenin), and arbutin, Damiana holds a revered place as a classic nervous system trophorestorative and reproductive tonic, celebrated for uplifting low spirits, releasing physical tension, and rekindling central vitality.

TASTE & ENERGETICS

  • Taste: Aromatic, sweet, slightly bitter, pungent, fig-like
  • Energetics: Warming, drying, uplifting, relaxing

TRADITIONALLY USED FOR:

  • Nervous System Trophorestorative: Nourishing and restoring an exhausted nervous system overwhelmed by long-term stress, nervous fatigue, or mild low mood.
  • Vitality & Libido Enhancement: Awakening sluggish reproductive energy, encouraging pelvic blood flow, and heightening sensory awareness for both men and women.
  • Tension Release & Mild Anxiety: Quieting overactive, analytical mind-chatter to support grounded relaxation and physical ease.
  • Digestive Warmth & Constipation: Stimulating sluggish bowel motility and easing mild nervous indigestion or abdominal tightness.

BREWING & PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Infusion (Uplifting Tea): Add 1–2 teaspoons of dried Damiana Leaf to 1 cup of freshly boiled water. Cover tightly with a saucer (essential to capture its uplifting volatile oils) and steep for 8–10 minutes. Strain and sip warm up to 3 times daily.
  • Evening Relaxation Brew: Enjoy an aromatic cup after dinner to unwind from daily mental stress and foster a relaxed, connected atmosphere.

Pack Sizes & Servings:

  • 15g Bag: Approx. 5 to 7 cups (Perfect for sampling)
  • 25g Bag: Approx. 10 to 12 cups (Ideal for a 1-week daily routine)
  • 50g Bag: Approx. 20 to 25 cups (Best value for a full month's daily ritual)

Calculated based on 1 gently heaped teaspoon (approx. 2g–3g) per 250ml cup.

Serving estimates are based on a standard 1 tsp (approx. 2g) per cup. Yield may vary slightly depending on the density of specific root, seed, or leaf blends.
