Hailing from the volcanic Maluku Islands of Indonesia (historically known as the Spice Islands), Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) are the unopened, sun-dried flower buds of an evergreen tree. Traded along ancient maritime routes as far back as 200 BCE—where Han Dynasty courtiers chewed them to sweeten their breath before approaching the Emperor—Cloves became one of the most sought-after treasures in global history. Celebrated in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine (known as Ding Xiang), and Western herbalism, Cloves owe their intense fragrance and soothing properties to a rich concentration of volatile essential oils, particularly eugenol.

TASTE & ENERGETICS

  • Taste: Pungent, intense, sweet, spicy, numbing, highly aromatic
  • Energetics: Strongly warming, drying, circulating, stimulating

TRADITIONALLY USED FOR:

  • Digestive Fire & Gas Relief: Dispelling deep, cold digestive stagnation, easing heavy abdominal bloating, trapped gas, and nausea.
  • Microbial Balance & Gut Health: Utilizing eugenol’s potent natural volatile properties to encourage a balanced, healthy gut microbiome.
  • Oral & Gums Comfort: Soothing sensitive oral tissues, supporting healthy gums, and naturally freshening breath.
  • Circulatory & Joint Warmth: Stimulating sluggish circulation to warm cold extremities and soothe stiff, chilled joint tissues.

BREWING & PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Decoction & Chai Infusion: Lightly crush 3–5 whole Clove studs. Add to 1.5 cups of cold water or milk in a saucepan, bring to a boil, cover, and gently simmer for 10–12 minutes. Strain and sip warm.
  • Aromatic Tea Accelerator: Add 1–2 whole cloves to your daily black or herbal tea brew to impart a rich, warming spicy depth.

Pack Sizes & Servings:

  • 15g Bag: Approx. 5 to 7 cups (Perfect for sampling)
  • 25g Bag: Approx. 10 to 12 cups (Ideal for a 1-week daily routine)
  • 50g Bag: Approx. 20 to 25 cups (Best value for a full month's daily ritual)

Calculated based on 1 gently heaped teaspoon (approx. 2g–3g) per 250ml cup.

Serving estimates are based on a standard 1 tsp (approx. 2g) per cup. Yield may vary slightly depending on the density of specific root, seed, or leaf blends.
