Radiating like bright golden suns in historical cottage gardens, Calendula (Calendula officinalis)—often called Pot Marigold—has been cherished throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, and India for over a thousand years. Its Latin name stems from kalendae (the first day of the calendar month), honoring its tendency to bloom continuously across the seasons. Celebrated by legendary herbalists like Culpeper and Hildegard von Bingen, Calendula is one of Western herbalism’s most beloved botanicals, famed for its extraordinary power to soothe delicate tissues, move sluggish lymph, and restore skin health inside and out.

TASTE & ENERGETICS

  • Taste: Slightly bitter, resinous, sweet, mildly pungent
  • Energetics: Warm, drying, moving, vulnerable-healing

TRADITIONALLY USED FOR:

  • Skin Healing & Tissue Renewal: Supporting natural cellular repair, soothing irritated or damaged skin, and promoting healthy scar tissue formation.
  • Lymphatic Movement & Stagnation: Gently encouraging lymphatic fluid flow to ease swollen glands and support healthy metabolic clearance.
  • Gut Membrane Soothing: Calming digestive irritation, soothing the stomach and intestinal lining, and supporting mucosal repair.
  • Seasonal & Cycle Support: Easing mild pelvic congestion, supporting comfortable monthly cycles, and lifting stagnant spirits.

BREWING & PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Infusion (Tea): Add 1–2 teaspoons of bright Calendula petals to 1 cup of freshly boiled water. Cover tightly with a saucer (to trap its valuable aromatic resins) and steep for 10–12 minutes. Strain and sip warm up to 3 times daily
  • Topical Wash or Compress: Brew a strong infusion (double the herbal strength), allow to cool completely, and use as a soothing wash, bath tea, or moist cloth compress for irritated skin.

Pack Sizes & Servings:

  • 15g Bag: Approx. 5 to 7 cups (Perfect for sampling)
  • 25g Bag: Approx. 10 to 12 cups (Ideal for a 1-week daily routine)
  • 50g Bag: Approx. 20 to 25 cups (Best value for a full month's daily ritual)

Calculated based on 1 gently heaped teaspoon (approx. 2g–3g) per 250ml cup.

Serving estimates are based on a standard 1 tsp (approx. 2g) per cup. Yield may vary slightly depending on the density of specific root, seed, or leaf blends.
