Cultivated across tropical and subtropical regions worldwide—including North Africa, the Caribbean, and Australia’s northern regions—Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is famous for its vibrant, ruby-red fleshy calyces. Celebrated globally in traditional beverages like Karkadeh in Egypt and Agua de Jamaica across Latin America, Hibiscus is as deeply refreshing as it is medicinal. Rich in deep red anthocyanins, natural fruit acids (citric, malic, and tartaric), vitamin C, and polyphenols, Hibiscus / Rosella is prized in clinical naturopathy and Western herbalism as a cooling circulatory tonic, antioxidant powerhouse, and gentle fluid-balancing botanical.

TASTE & ENERGETICS

  • Taste: Tart, tangy, berry-like, refreshing, sweet-sour
  • Energetics: Strongly cooling, moistening (generates fluids), tonifying, astringent

TRADITIONALLY USED FOR:

  • Cardiovascular & Vascular Tone: Supporting healthy arterial flexibility, blood vessel elasticity, and overall cardiovascular vitality.
  • Fluid Balance & Kidney Flushing: Promoting gentle fluid elimination to ease fluid retention and clear metabolic waste.
  • Antioxidant & Cellular Defense: Supplying rich bioflavonoids and anthocyanins to protect cells against oxidative stress.
  • Cooling Body Heat & Thirst Relief: Quenching deep thirst, cooling metabolic heat, and reviving energy during hot weather or thermal imbalance.

BREWING & PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Infusion (Tart Refreshing Tea): Add 1–2 teaspoons of dried Hibiscus calyces to 1 cup of freshly boiled water. Cover and steep for 5–8 minutes. Strain and enjoy warm, or cool in the fridge for a deeply refreshing iced summer tea.
  • Flavour Tip: Add a touch of raw Australian honey or stir in a dash of warm spice like Cinnamon to balance its natural tangy tartness.

Pack Sizes & Servings:

  • 15g Bag: Approx. 5 to 7 cups (Perfect for sampling)
  • 25g Bag: Approx. 10 to 12 cups (Ideal for a 1-week daily routine)
  • 50g Bag: Approx. 20 to 25 cups (Best value for a full month's daily ritual)

Calculated based on 1 gently heaped teaspoon (approx. 2g–3g) per 250ml cup.

Serving estimates are based on a standard 1 tsp (approx. 2g) per cup. Yield may vary slightly depending on the density of specific root, seed, or leaf blends.
