Cucumber - Organic Muncher Burpless

First cultivated in India at least 3000 years ago. Summer salad vegetable, known to the ancient Greeks and Romans.  A sweet, highly productive heirloom variety, Cucumber 'Muncher Burpless' produces smooth, tender cucumbers up to 20 cm long with bright green, non-bitter skin. True to its name, it is exceptionally easy on digestion and completely burpless. Crisp, juicy, and virtually seedless when harvested young, it is ideal for fresh slicing, snacking straight from the vine, or making crisp dill pickles.

Planting Instructions

• Position: Plant in a warm, sheltered spot in full sun. Thrives in rich, free-draining soil heavily amended with compost or well-rotted manure.
• Transplanting: Cucumbers have sensitive roots, so handle seedlings gently during transplanting. Avoid disturbing the root ball when removing from the nursery cell.
• Depth & Spacing: Plant at the same depth as the nursery pot. Space plants 40–50 cm apart. Provide a sturdy trellis, tripod, or fence for climbing—vining vertically keeps the fruit clean, straight, and easy to harvest.
• Watering: Water deeply at ground level, keeping foliage dry to reduce the risk of powdery mildew. Keep soil consistently moist, as irregular watering can cause fruit to taste bitter.
• Harvest: Pick regularly when fruits reach 10–15 cm long for optimal sweetness and crisp texture. Regular harvesting encourages the vine to keep producing heavily throughout the season.
