Calendula - Elixir

Calendula officinalis 

Calendula flowers contain essential oils and sugars that are known to stimulate the immune system.  The component of the flower that gives calendula its colour is beta-carotene which is also found in carrots.  Because of this, it has the same basic health benefits of carrot and is also high in vitamin A.  Not the best tasting tea, a little honey improves it.

Calendula flowers health benefits include;

• Cleansing and detoxifying
• Anti-fungal
• antiseptic
• antibiotic
• Can be used as a wash, compress or foot bath as well as a tea.

Historically, herbal elixirs were used medicinally, as a pleasant way to treat a variety of ailments. Adding a sweetener to bitter or astringent herb tinctures can make ingesting them a more palatable experience, especially with kids.

Dosage:

20 drops 3 x Day for Adults.  10 drops 2 x day for Kids.

Continue using the tincture until you notice an improvement in symptoms. Once improvement is observed, discontinue use. Should symptoms reappear, resume taking the tincture.
