Slippery Elm Powder is a versatile herbal supplement known for its soothing and healing properties. It is often used to support digestive health. The powder forms a gel-like substance when mixed with water, creating a protective layer along the digestive tract. This can be especially beneficial for those dealing with acid reflux, gastritis, or other digestive issues. Additionally, Slippery Elm is rich in mucilage, which helps to ease irritation and inflammation, making it a go-to remedy for soothing sore throats and coughs.

Dosage

Add the 1 Tbsp of slippery elm bark powder to a glass and first add just a tiny bit of water to the powder and mix it until a thick paste forms and all the powder has been in contact with the water. Then add another tablespoon of water and mix again, thickening the paste.

Add a bit more water and repeat this a few times. You can also try adding hot water. Once it has gelled you can add more water so it is easier to drink.

You can either drink immediately (recommended) or wait to allow the mixture to thicken even further. The longer you leave the mixture, the thicker it will get, potentially making it more difficult and unpleasant to drink.

For Pets: Our commitment to holistic pet care extends to providing the best for your furry companions. Slippery Elm Powder is equally beneficial for pets, especially in addressing digestive concerns. Whether your pet is experiencing constipation, diarrhea, or other gastrointestinal issues, this natural remedy can offer relief. The mucilage content helps to coat and soothe the digestive tract, promoting a healthy gut. It's a gentle yet effective solution for pets with sensitive stomachs or those undergoing stress-related digestive issues.

Experience the natural healing benefits of Slippery Elm Powder for both you and your pets, supporting digestive wellness the way nature intended. Choose health, choose natural, Choose you.

Dosage:

For long-term use, it may be best to give slippery elm away from meals, supplements and medications by at least an hour, and again at bedtime. A separate dose at bedtime will allow it to work, undisturbed, to enhance its benefits.

Medications should be given 1 to 2 hours before a dose of slippery elm, since the mucilaginous coating it creates can inhibit their absorption. Because it is itself so nutritious, there is much less concern about giving it with or near feedings. Most informational sources don’t make any distinction regarding timing of doses.

For problems in the large intestine, such as constipation or inflammatory bowel disease, it may be better to give with food or just after meals.

To soothe and heal mouth ulcers, give by syringe, coating the ulcerated tissue, at least an hour before or after food. For sore throat or cough, give by syringe and coat the back of the throat as much as you can; of course, stop immediately if choking occurs.

Topical use

Make a soothing paste of slippery elm powder (mix the powder with cold water) as a poultice for hot spots, insect burns, rashes, scratches, ulcerated areas or other shallow wounds. Smear onto the wound and allow it to dry.

May contain trace amounts of alcohol.  If you want to take the alcohol out of your tincture, then take lid off bottle, simmer slowly till water starts to bubble (only slightly bubbling) remover, then your done.  This will help to evaporate the alcohol from your tincture.
