Herbal Medicine

Oak Tree Herbal Clinic is situated in Gabbadah, Western Australia.  Gabbadah is approx. 65km north of Perth on the coastal road.  We have a 5 acre organic property where we are starting to grow and manufacture all our Herbal medicines, Herbal Teas, Organic Skin care Range, and in the near future, where we will be  holding our workshops. here as well.

Herbal Medicine

As mentioned above, we brew 99% of our tinctures, using both alcohol and glycerol.  We only use organic herbs - there are a few exception - but the majority of the herbs we use are certified organic or are organically grown.  We will be growing all of our herbs that we need eventually, but as you can appreciate, it will take us a number of years before we can say we grow everything.

Leesa has become a Plant Shaman and is able to connect to the herbs on a spiritual level.  Through Leesa's knowledge of the plant kingdom, we are able to harvest our herbs when they are at their peak.  The power of the herb is then transmitted into all of our herbal medicines.

The medicine that we produce at Oak Tree Herbal Clinic is Folk Medicine.  We brew all our tinctures the way it was done many, many years ago.  Leesa has done a lot of research as to the best way to obtain the herbs best qualities.  Through a lot of trial and error and a lot of reading of Folk Medicine books and papers,  we believe that the medicine we produce at Oak Tree Herbal Clinic has captured the total medicinal properties of all the herbs we use.  We are so excited to be able to share our medicine with you.  To see what we have available visit our online shop herbal_tinctures  If we dont have what you are after please let us know.  We are adding to our list weekly.

If you would like to purchase our tinctures at wholesale prices, please email us enquiries@oaktreeherbalclinic.com.au

Herbal Tea

The history of tea spans thousands of years.  Tea likely originated in China during the Shang Dynasty - 1500BC - 1046BC.  According to Green Med, dried peppermint leaves have been found in several Egyptian pyramids carbon dating back to 1000BC.

You can get simple teas (One variety of herbs) at the supermarket, but just be careful that the simple tea you are after is the only ingredient in the tea bag.  If the list of ingredients says that it uses a "flavouring" instead of an herb, that tea will not necessarily give you the specific benefits you are seeking.  For instance, you might want to try raspberry tea for its healing effect on the urinary tract.  If you find a tea in the supermarket that says "Raspberry tea", you could discover that it contains black tea with raspberry flavouring.  For our full range of herbal tea blends visit our shop herbal_tea_blends

Did you know that most tea is not washed before it is put into bags?  That means if the tea was sprayed with cancer-causling pesticides, those pesticides go directly into your cup.  Many of today's tea brands are operating under the guise of providing health benefits and promoting clean living, but are actually laden with pesticides, toxins, artifical ingredients, added flavours and GMO's.

An herbal infusion is made from lightweight plant material - namely leaves, flowers and fruits.  Place 1 - 2 teaspoons of dried herb into an infuser cover with water and let steep for 2-5 minutes.  Make sure you put the lid on your infusor or all those beneficial essential oils will escape and you wont benefit from them.A herbal decoction is made from the hard woody parts of the plant - roots, barks, rhizomes and seeds. Place you chosen herb in an uncovered pot containing cold water.  Bring to the boil and boil for 10 minutes.  Reduce heat and allow to simmer till the volume of the water has reduced by half.  This takes approximately 20 minutes.  Strain out the herbs and you have your tea.
