Irish Moss was traditionally used for Thyroid health, Respiratory Health - helps to clear out lungs of phlegm associated with common cold.  Irish Moss contains 92 minerals and the body is made up of 102 minerals, has excellent immune boosting properties, is a great digestive support.

Scientists with the U,S, Department of Agriculture state that 100 grams of edible sea miss is very nutritious and contains very high amounts of potassium, calcium, phosphorous, sodium and iron. Irish moss also has magnesium, chlorine, sulfur, copper, iodine and other trace minerals.

Perhaps one of the most important and undervalued benefits of this sea moss is its ability to help balance thyroid hormones. Irish Moss contains the vital thyroid hormone precursor DI-Iodothyronine (DIT), and the thyroid hormones Thyroxin (T4) and Tri-iodothyronine (T3).

Traditional Uses have been known to:

  • dissolves catarrh, phlegm
  • soothes inflammation of the mucus membranes to prevent congestion,
  • helping to clear out the lungs of any phlegm that builds up with a common cold.
  • help to prevent a common cold from turning into pneumonia
  • can treat other respiratory problems such as bronchitis.
  • helping to prevent or treat a myriad of disorders such as flu, sore throats, chesty coughs 
  • excellent immune boosting food
  • helps to ease gastritis, dyspepsia, nausea, heartburn and indigestion
  • will increase energy and can help to accelerate weight loss

 

Glycetracts are made without using alcohol for the extraction of the herb. They are made from Glycerol, distilled water and herbs. The glycerol used is vegetable sourced. Glycetracts are suitable for people who need to avoid any alcohol (e.g. young children, recovering alcoholics and those with liver distress)
